Stephanie Yee, M.A.

I am a Masters Level Clinician at Old Town Psychology, pursuing my doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of Maryland (UMD). I earned my masters in counseling psychology from UMD, and I have over three years of experience providing psychological services to clients.

Clinically, I take a client-centered approach, meaning that I make genuineness, openness, and unconditional acceptance of my clients the foundation of my work. Additionally, my therapy is insight-driven and multiculturally-oriented. I believe that clients’ journeys toward growth begins with understanding themselves better in terms of their past experiences and their cultural identities.

I also conduct cognitive assessments with children for special academic programs and private school admissions. I believe that it is important to establish a connection with every child before and during the assessment so that they can feel at ease and perform to the best of their abilities.

I also teach undergraduate courses at the University of Maryland, and provide academic advising to traditionally underrepresented students.
