Sofía Bustos is a clinical psychology fellow at Old Town Psychology. She provides individual therapy, parent coaching, and family-based services for children, adolescents, and adults. Sofía is a bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician and works with clients navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), selective mutism, school-related and behavioral concerns, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. She also conducts psychological assessments.
Sofía received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, and completed her doctoral internship at Howard University Counseling Service. She works from a relational and family-systems perspective, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), DIR/Floortime, play therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. Sofía provides culturally responsive, identity-affirming care and meets clients where they are, drawing on their values as she supports meaningful and lasting change.

As a bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician, Dr. Sofía provides culturally responsive and identity-affirming care that helps children and families build warmer, more effective relationships. She recognizes childhood as a formative time and parenthood as a vulnerable role. She also supports adolescents and young adults as they transition into greater independence. Dr. Sofía meets clients where they are, drawing upon their values as she accompanies them toward meaningful and lasting change.
Dr. Sofía uses a relational and family-systems approach, integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based (DIR) Floortime, play therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. Dr. Sofía has particular experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Her clinical experience also includes working with individuals and families navigating ADHD, selective mutism, OCD, school-related challenges, emotional and behavioral concerns, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other developmental and mental health concerns.
