Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a form of neurodivergence which affects communication, stimulus sensitivity, social skills, interests, and other behaviors. In the United States, autism affects 1 in 36 children and 1 in 45 adults. It is highly heritable, with 80% of cases caused by genetics. Although there is currently no definitive cause of autism, detection through autism testing is critical for achieving the best treatment outcomes regardless of age.
Old Town Psychology offers autism spectrum disorder assessments for adults, as well as children age 16 months and older.
Autism Spectrum Disorder Testing for All Ages:
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that all children be screened for ASD. Early detection is critical so that children get the support they need as soon as possible. However, it’s helpful to test children at any age if you suspect ASD.
