All of us have moments in life where we feel stuck. This may mean feeling anxious or depressed, facing a life transition, struggling with relationship difficulties, or feeling isolated. No matter what your struggling with, you feel like your life is missing something, whether its meaningful relationships, purpose, or the ability to cope with difficulties.

What to Expect

INITIAL CONSULTATION

You may be wondering if therapy is right for you or if you can find the help you're seeking. The first step is to call, email, or text us for a complimentary consultation. We will talk for around 15 minutes about what you’d like to get out of therapy. You can also ask any questions you might have. If the fit seems right we can talk about next steps.

FIRST SESSION

During the first session, we will talk about your personal history and current situation so that we can get a better understanding of you. Together we'll decide the best approach for you. You will also complete forms, such as consent forms. This first session lasts 50 minutes and happens either in person at our Alexandria, VA office or remotely via a HIPAA compliant secure video portal.

CONTINUING THERAPY

Usually after the first 2 sessions, you'll know whether you want to continue in therapy. The length of therapy is different for each person and depends on your needs and wants. You can end therapy any time you would like.

FEES AND INSURANCE

We offer the follow types of sessions:

  • $90 - $110 for a 25 minute session

  • $180 - $220 for a 50 minute session

  • $252 for a couples therapy session

Payment is due at each session. We will discuss specifics during our initial phone consultation.

We are out of network for insurance, like most therapists in the DC area. However, approximately 50% of our clients are able to receive reimbursement from their insurance. We’ll work closely with you to make the reimbursement process as easy as possible.
