What to Expect

Initial Consultation

You may be wondering if therapy is right for you or if you can find the help you're seeking. The first step is to call, email, or text me for a complimentary consultation. We will talk for around 15 minutes about what you’d like to get out of therapy. You can also ask any questions you might have. If the fit seems right we can talk about next steps.

First Session

During the first session, we will talk about your personal history and current situation so that I can get a better understanding of you. Together we'll decide the best approach for you. You will also complete forms, such as consent forms. All sessions last 50 minutes.

Continuing Therapy

Usually after the first 2 sessions, you'll know whether you want to continue in therapy. The length of therapy is different for each person and depends on your needs and wants. You can end therapy any time you would like.

Fees and Insurance

My fees range from $130 - $180 per session, charged on a sliding scale. However, I offer block discounts for patients who purchase multiple sessions up front. We will discuss specifics during our initial phone consultation.

Although I am out of network like most therapists in the DC area, I’ll work closely with you to make the reimbursement process as easy as possible.

Payment is due at each session and can be made via credit card, cash, check, or HSA/FSA.
