What to Expect
BEFORE THE TEST
We will schedule a phone call with you prior to the testing appointment to discuss your goals, your child’s needs, and logistics for the day of appointment.
This discussion allows us to better understand your child ahead of time so we can personalize the experience as well as answer any questions you may have.
We will also provide information on what you can expect and how to best prepare your child for the day of the test.
DURING THE TEST
The IQ test is designed to be clinically rigorous, but that doesn't mean testing atmosphere has to be. We provide personalized attention to you and your child throughout the process with the goal of making the experience as comfortable as possible.
It’s normal for children to feel nervous when taking tests, so we take the time to build rapport with your child so that your child will feel comfortable taking the test.
The assessment is interactive and conducted one-on-one. This enables us to observe your child’s test-taking style and provide encouragement when necessary. We will also ensure that your child takes breaks when needed so that he or she doesn’t get tired and stays engaged. The testing session lasts approximately 90 to 120 minutes.
AFTER THE TEST
After the test is complete, we will schedule a separate appointment with you via phone or in person to go over the results and provide tailored feedback so that you can make the best-informed decision as a parent. You will receive a clear and objective report of the results that you can submit to the school.
In addition, we will provide specific recommendations on what you can do to foster your child’s strengths and improve any areas of weakness. Recommendations are based on the most recent research and best practices in the field of education.
Parents report that the recommendations help their children enhance their cognitive abilities and progress academically.
