Job Description
Old Town Psychology is offering a salaried full-time 12 month postdoctoral fellowship focused on couples counseling. The position offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative and growing group practice. In addition to providing couples counseling, you will engage in a variety of clinical activities, including individual therapy, psychological assessments, case consultations, didactics, and supervision.
Our fellows are supervised by clinical psychologists with expertise in couples counseling and will receive specialized training in evidence-based couples counseling approaches, including the Gottman Method and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy.
The ideal candidate is someone who values being part of an innovative and highly collaborative team. The fellow is expected to be an excellent therapist, able to build empathic, healthy relationships with clients. The position may lead to a full-time position as a staff member.
Opportunity Details
Provide high quality, evidence-based therapy to couples and individual clients. Previous experience working with couples is preferred, but not required. All clients will be provided by the practice.
Work with a collaborative team of psychologists, postdocs, and externs.
Receive close mentorship and supervision from clinical psychologists who specialize in couples counseling.
Receive rigorous training that includes weekly didactics, group supervision, individual supervision, and case presentations.
Receive specialized training in evidence-based couples counseling approaches, including the Gottman Method and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy.
Opportunity to work with diverse clients across the lifespan.
Opportunity to learn and conduct psychological and cognitive assessments for ADHD, learning disorders, and psycho-educational purposes. Previous assessment experience is preferred, but not required.
Opportunity to participate in practice research activities, write articles, blogs, and other publications.
Requirements
Ph.D or Psy.D in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited Program.
Completion of a Pre-Doctoral Internship at an APA-accredited internship site.
Desire to be part of an innovative, collaborative team
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Ability to build accepting, genuine, and empathic therapeutic relationships.
