Dr. Sarah Jaweed

My name is Sarah Jaweed, and I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Old Town Psychology. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University, where I built a strong foundation in evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, and families. I completed my doctoral internship at TEAMCare Behavioral Health LLC, working across both school-based and outpatient clinic settings.

My clinical and research interests center on working with children and adolescents experiencing mood disorders. Over the course of my training and professional experience, I have developed a particular passion for working with parent-child dyads. I focus on both internalizing behaviors, such as anxiety and depression, and externalizing behaviors, such as defiance and aggression. I believe that supporting the family system—especially strengthening the parent-child relationship—is key to creating meaningful and lasting therapeutic change.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I integrate structured, skills-based strategies with values-based exploration and mindfulness to help clients build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and move toward their goals. Additionally, I have conducted psychological assessments to children and adolescents to inform diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

While my background is rooted in working with youth and families, I have a growing interest in working with adults. I’m passionate about helping individuals of all ages navigate life transitions, enhance their relationships, and manage emotional challenges across the lifespan.
