Licensed Psychologist (Testing & Therapy)

Join one of the DMV’s premier destinations for psychological care. Old Town Psychology is a thriving, growth-oriented practice in the heart of historic Old Town Alexandria. We’re hiring a Licensed Psychologist who can lead end-to-end assessment cases and carry a steady, in-person therapy caseload. If you love clinical variety, want a referral pipeline that already exists, and would thrive on a collaborative team that handles the admin so you can focus on the work — read on.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a psychologist who is energized by both assessment and therapy. You’ll lead psychological assessments end-to-end — from intake and battery selection through testing, scoring, integrated report writing, and feedback — while also maintaining a steady weekly therapy caseload.

•      Assessment cases: Lead comprehensive evaluations across the lifespan, with a focus on ADHD, ASD, and Specific Learning Disorders.

•      Therapy caseload: In-person therapy across the lifespan.

•      Collaboration: Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and a peer culture that values clinical excellence and continued learning.

•      Growth opportunities: Pursue interests in supervision, training, specialty area development, writing, and presenting — we actively support clinicians building meaningful careers.

Why Old Town Psychology

We’re a growing practice with a premier reputation in Northern Virginia and the broader DMV. We’ve built our model around the things clinicians actually care about: a full referral pipeline, real administrative support, beautiful offices, a collegial team, and a compensation package designed to reward great clinical work.

•      All referrals provided by the practice — no marketing or rainmaking expected of clinicians.

•      Full administrative, intake, billing, and scheduling support.

•      Your own dedicated, beautifully appointed office on King Street.

•      Collaborative, growth-oriented team culture with regular case consultation.

•      Eight-minute walk from the King Street Metro station.

Compensation & Benefits

•      Competitive six-figure W-2 base salary with market-leading benefits package.

•      Quarterly Production Bonus Plan — meaningful upside on top of base.

•      100% employer-paid healthcare premiums (medical, with dental and vision available).

•      3% retirement contribution from the practice.

•      Employer-paid transit benefits (Metro pass or parking).

•      Employer-paid professional liability insurance and license renewal.

•      Annual professional development stipend.

•      Paid vacation and practice holidays.

What We’re Looking For

•      Doctoral-level Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Virginia, or license-eligible with a clear path to Virginia licensure.

•      Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end assessment cases across the lifespan for ADHD, ASD, and Specific Learning Disorders — from battery selection through integrated report writing and feedback.

•      Strong clinical foundation in evidence-based therapy for adults and/or couples (depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions).

•      Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine, empathic therapeutic relationships.

•      Collaborative orientation and a real interest in being part of a team.
